Fall brings crisp air, cozy sweaters, and the perfect excuse to get outdoors and enjoy all the beauty of the season. Recently, my husband and I spent a day at Laura's Farm Stand in Cookstown, Ontario and it was such a memorable outing! If you're a sucker for the Fall (a basic Fall betch if you will) like we both are, it's a no brainer.
From picking pumpkins to wandering through the corn maze, we found it to be a fantastic fall date idea—and one that’s equally suited for families and friends looking to enjoy the best of autumn.
The Farm Experience at Laura’s
Our visit started with the quintessential pumpkin patch adventure, where we could pick out our own pumpkins straight from the vine. It’s surprisingly fun to wander through the patch, searching for the perfect pumpkin to bring home and carve! We also had the chance to create a custom floral arrangement, filled with fresh, seasonal blooms—a beautiful and unique keepsake from the day.
Alongside the pumpkin patch and flower fields, Laura’s Farm has adorable animals to visit. Seeing the animals added a playful and lively touch, and we saw kids (and adults!) delight in watching them, truly bringing us back to our own youth. The corn maze was another highlight, a fun little challenge to navigate together, which makes it the perfect activity for groups to share laughs and work together to find their way out.
Laura's Farm Stand is filled with seasonal displays and scenic spots, ideal for snapping a few fall photos. Whether it's capturing that perfect pumpkin patch shot, holding fresh-picked flowers, or posing next to the hay bales, you’re guaranteed to come away with some frame-worthy photos!
And no visit is complete without sampling the local goodies! The farm offers delicious fall-inspired treats, like fresh apple cider, caramel apples, and baked goods. These treats were a perfect way to wrap up our visit (if you've never had an apple cider float before, OMG it's a must!)
